Business Pre-Sessional English Study Programme
Business Pre-sessional English Courses for international students
The Business Pre-sessional English Study Programme (BPESP) is a full-time, highly intensive pre-sessional English language course for international students, which runs for six weeks. It is designed to improve your skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking and to develop your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. It also seeks to enhance your IT and study skills. The programme is is run by the School of Languages.
The programme is aimed at students who seek to progress onto University of Salford programmes at a Postgraduate level via guaranteed progression.
Guaranteed Progression
As a student on the Business Pre-sessional English Study Programme, you will be eligible for guaranteed progression onto a named course at the University of Salford where:
- You hold a conditional offer of a place on your chosen course, and the sole condition of offer relates to English-language entry requirements,
- You are able to produce documentary evidence (as defined on the University’s website) which indicates that your English-language competence is no more than 0.5 IELTS points (or equivalent) below the English-language requirement for your chosen course,
- Your attendance rate on this programme is no lower than ninety per cent,
- You complete, at an acceptable standard, all required coursework.
Students must be aware that they will be starting two weeks later for their Postgraduate programme and they will be responsible for catching up on any work or assessments required. Salford Business School will support you all they can as you progress through the language programme prior to joining your Masters course.
Entry Requirements
To join this programme you must be able to produce documentary evidence (as defined on the University’s website) that your English-language competence is no more than 0.5 IELTS points (or equivalent) below the English-language requirement for your chosen course.
You will also need to provide your previous education documents, your passport and your conditional offer from Salford Business School.
Dates and Fees
For those wishing to start a Masters in January 2011, the Business Pre-sessional English Study Programme begins on January 3, 2011.
