Professor Aris Syntetos

Aris is Professor of Operational Research (OR) and Operations Management (OM), working with the Centre for OM, Management Science and Statistics (COMMSS, previously CORAS) at the Salford Business School. His research interests relate primarily to supply chain forecasting and inventory management and he has conducted many goverment/ research council funded projects in this area (EPSRC, Technology Strategy Board, Royal Society, NWDA) totalling more than £1 million. Aris has presented his work in more than 35 conferences and 15 Universities world-wide. Recent invited visiting Professorial appointments include the DePaul University, USA; BEM Bordeaux Management School, FR; Universita di Brescia, IT; Copenhagen Business School, DK and EM-Lyon, FR.

Aris is Co-Editor In Chief of the IMA Journal of Management Mathematics (Oxford University Press), Associate Editor (Viewpoints) of the Journal of the Operational Research Society (Palgrave MacMillan). He serves at the Executive Committee of the International Society for Inventories Research (ISIR) and the General Council of the Operational Research Society. He was a member of the organising committee of the national (UK) annual conference of the Operational Research Society (OR 53, Nottingham 06-08, 2011).

Teaching

Aris is teaching Operational Resarch (Management Science), Operations Management and Supply Chain Management/Modelling at the postgraduate (MSc) level.
